Stephen Paul Brown, 62, a resident of New Castle passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born September 23, 1961 in New Castle to the late James Paul and Deanne (Rothrock) Brown.
Steve was employed at Carvana and had previously owned a lawn mowing business. An auto enthusiast, he especially loved Camaros and enjoyed driving his 1984 Camaro. Steve enjoyed doing auto body work, fishing, his bass boat and loved his dog, Leroy Brown. Known for his sense of humor, he was quite the jokester and enjoyed pranking others. Steve has been described as a work-acholic, perfectionist and a stud muffin to his wife. He was also a wonderful grandpa and step-grandpa.
Survivors include his wife: Sandy (Denney) Brown; two children: Chad (Liz) Brown and Shawn (Taylor) Brown; two step-daughters: Amanda Dullworth and Amy Humes; grandchildren: Austin Brown, Blake Brown, Seth Brown, Kaiden Bass-Brown, Braylon Brown and Brooklynn Brown; great-grandson: Karter King; step-grandchildren: Mason, Garrett and Gracelyn Humes, Chloee and Aleah Lowery; step-mother: Stella Brown; siblings: Gary (Kim) Williams and Rachel (Alan) Smith; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Welby and Mamie Brown and June Rothrock.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Denney officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, February 19 at the funeral home. Condolences and memories of Steve may be shared at
