Steven V. Peterson

Steven V. Peterson, 72, of Dunreith passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 at The Waters of New Castle following a fall back in November. He was born April 4, 1951 in Morris, IL the son of Ernest and Joan Peterson.

Steve graduated from Lebanon High School in 1969 and later went on to graduate from Ball State University where he met his wife Deborah.

Steve was a hardworking man. He loved to travel the United States while collecting and selling antiques along the way. He was a regular at the Monday night auctions in Knightstown and was always making conversations with the crowd. He was a mentor to many.

Father’s Day was always important because June 17th of 1995 he was able to adopt his baby girl that was born on Father’s Day. Steve loved being a papa to Kamryn and Julien. He loved vacationing with his family to Wisconsin Dells every year and was able to take the grandkids in 2022.

He is survived by his daughter, Lydia Peterson; grandchildren, Kamryn Sue and Julien; brother, Gary (Jeanna) Peterson; best friends, Sheldon and Heath Maxwell; his kitty cat, Leo; and many more antique business partners he made over the last 65 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Sue Peterson.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service.
