Teresa Marie Maze Slaven, 59, of New Castle passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Henry Community Health. She was born on August 1, 1964 a daughter of the late Terrence Duane and Lois Marie (Brookshire) Maze.
Big heart, big smile and kind words should remind you of Teresa. Teresa possessed a very helpful and kind spirit. Even though she had some physical challenges in life she didn’t let that change her want to help others and she certainly appreciated help when it was given in return. Foremost, she loved the Lord and had very close relationship with her father and brother, Jim. Teresa enjoyed a comfy and cozy atmosphere in her home and her favorite color was pink. In the near future, Teresa had aspirations to travel by airplane to Florida and visit the beach; she had never flown or experienced the beach.
Teresa is survived by her uncle, Mike (Mikie) Maze of New Castle; nephew, Daniel; nieces, Tenyha and Diane all of Albuquerque, NM; aunt, Barbara Maze of New Castle; cousins, Leann Steers, Colleen (Todd) Myers, Jackie Lee Maze and Rick Maze all of New Castle; longtime best friend, Patty Melton of New Castle and several close friends at Woodside Manor Apartments.
In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her brother, James “Jim” Maze; uncle, Jack Maze.
Services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, October 23, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until the time of service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to God’s Grain Bin, 1623 Vine St. New Castle, IN 47362.
