Vera L. (Gorman) Campbell 75, of New Castle died Thursday, April 30th, 2020 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born November 21st, 1944 in New Castle, Indiana to the late James and Alpha (Young) Gorman.
Mrs. Campbell was a 1963 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She retired from Ferodo (formerly Nuturn) in New Castle. She was also active in a family business, Friend’s Cutting Café, until 2016. She was also once a member of BPW. She was a longtime resident at Autumn Oaks apartments where she spent her later years after moving from Kennard, Indiana. Vera’s favorite hobbies were enjoying time spent being with her grandchildren, and their sporting activities while in school. An avid reader, she was also a classic movie aficionado. She was a proud mother, mother-in law, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her son: Scott (wife: Paula) Campbell of Wilkinson, IN; granddaughter Jordan (husband: Clayton) Ritorto of Camby, IN; grandson: Adam Campbell of Wilkinson, IN; sister: Kathleen (Gorman) Wallace of New Castle, IN; brother: Mark (wife: Joyce) Gorman of Middletown, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Barry Campbell (July 2000) and her parents, and many loved brothers, sisters and in-laws.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Ryan McCarty officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery, Wilkinson. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, May 8 at the funeral home but please be prepared to wait as we are only limited to 25 guests in attendance at a time.
