Virginia M. Ellis, 99, a resident of New Castle passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at her home. She was born April 3, 1924 in Lewisville to the late Wilmer and Edna E. (Dishman) Williamson.
A graduate of Lewisville High School, she lived 22 years in Lewisville, 9 years in Spiceland and 51 years on a farm between Mt. Lawn and Kennard. Virginia had been employed at Chrysler Corp., Bank of Henry County and the Charles A Beard School Corp. where she was a teacher's aide at Kennard School. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Spiceland, Kennard Community Locust Grove Club and BSF Bible Study. Virginia was also a member of the Kennard Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, scrap booking and flower gardening.
Survivors include a son: Steve (Sherre) Ellis of Fortville; daughter: Cheri Stockton of New Castle; daughter-in-law: Donna Ellis of Pendleton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Paul W. Ellis in 1984; two sons: Dale and Jim Ellis and several siblings.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of the service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be given to Henry County Hospice or the Henry County Cancer Society through the Henry County Community Foundation.
