Walter L. "Pat" Flockhart

Walter L. “Pat” Flockhart, Jr., 81, of New Castle, passed away Saturday morning, September 23, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent in Carmel. He was born April 17, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late Walter L. and Lois Viola (Thompson) Flockhart Sr.

A 1959 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School, he was part of the ROTC program at the school. He graduated from Ball State University, and was a registered nurse at Henry County Memorial Hospital, the New Castle Correctional Facility, as well as several nursing homes in the area. He thoroughly enjoyed watching Westerns on T.V. and was an avid muzzleloader enthusiast. Known to be a homebody, Pat was the most kind-hearted man you’d ever meet, with a gentle and humble nature.

He leaves to cherish three sons, Timothy M. Flockhart of New Castle, and his daughter, Honor; Matthew L. Flockhart of Milton, and his children, Riley Flockhart and Cooper (Morgan) Flockhart; and Gavin (Klaire) Flockhart of New Castle, and their children, Alyssa, Gavin Jr., Shana and Nettie; two great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Flockhart of VA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Flockhart.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 29, 2023 at Ebenezer Cemetery in Straughn. You may share condolences and memories of Pat at www.hinsey-brown.com .
