William Douglas “Doug” Morgan

William Douglas “Doug” Morgan, 67, of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of New Castle passed away, Sunday, February 4, 2024 at his home. He was born February 16, 1956 in Rushville, Indiana to William “Bill” and Joanna (Terhune) Morgan.

Doug had many passions throughout life; owning and operating businesses was just one of them. Over the years, he had owned a pool installation/service company, hobby shops and had several rental properties. Doug retired from Farm Bureau Insurance after many years and from the New Castle Community Schools as a bus driver for 10 years. He and his wife, Elaine, moved to Port Charlotte, Florida to enjoy retirement. There, he was employed at Pinch A Penny Pool Service and an active member of the Port Charlotte Church of Christ where he was baptized in 2020. Doug would light up a room when he would walk into it. He loved being around family and friends and was always the life of the party. He enjoyed snow skiing in the Rockies, flying model airplanes, fish aquariums, NASCAR and was a collector of many things including records and stereo equipment he had built. Doug loved his dogs and will be missed by his furry companions, Pepper and Sammy.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Pierce) Morgan; step children, Amanda (Brandon) Duncan, Joseph Cita, Ashley (John) Fox and Tiffany Wending; grandchildren, Annabelle, Leo and Kate Duncan, Alexis and Joesph V Cita, Collin Fox; father, William “Bill” Morgan; siblings, Angela (Rick) Bills, Jeff (Rita) Morgan and Scott (Melinda) Morgan; brothers in law, Bob (Kathy) Pierce and Jeff (Michelle) Pierce and several nephews.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, John and Euldean Pierce.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with his nephew, Zach Morgan, officiating. A time of gathering will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
