A. Jean Dicken, 83, of New Castle, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her home. She was born November 9, 1931 in New Castle a daughter of the late Herschel Haywood Wallen and Frances Ramey Huffman. She married the late Samuel M. Dicken on February 4, 1950 and had celebrated 49 years of marriage.
She was most proud of being a wife and mother of three daughters. She was a longtime Avon Representative. Jean was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene on 18th and Grand Ave in New Castle.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Richard) Hahn of New Castle, Debbie (Byron) Hyatt of Loves Park, IL and Mary Kalk of New Castle; three granddaughters, Heather Hahn of Rochester Hills, MI, Kristin Kalk and Melissa Goforth both of New Castle; four grandsons, Josh (Erica) Hahn of Gallatin, TN, Ben Goforth of New Castle, Stephen Kalk and Ryan (Hannah) Kalk both of Greenfield; three great granddaughters, Taylor and Tinsley Hahn and Nina Goforth; two brothers, Herschel Wallen of Crossville, TN and Lee Wallen of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Mary Wright of Walled Lake, MI and Kotea Purvis of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Wallen; half brother, Charles Jake Wallen; step father, Roy Huffman.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
