Albert Raab

June 17, 1926 — February 14, 2010

Albert Edward Raab, 83, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. He was born June 17, 1926 in Ridgefield, New Jersey the son of Michael Raymond and Louise (Mildner) Raab.

Albert was a used car sales manager at I.J. Demarest, and a bus driver for the Ridgefield Board of Education in Ridgefield, New Jersey. He was also a bus driver in New Castle with Comprehensive Mental Health Services. He lived in New Jersey most of his life and retired to New Castle. Albert was a member of the English Neighborhood Reformed Church in New Jersey and later attended First Baptist Church in New Castle. He was also a member of the Gideon’s International and volunteered at Westminster.

He is survived by his wife Marcia (Jordan) Raab; a sister: Audrey (husband: Ruel) Chilton; nieces: Barb (husband: Dean) Mucha and Libby (husband: Gordon) Sheffield; several other nieces and nephews; adopted grandchildren: Tom (wife: Tisha), Josiah and Joel Sledd; special friends: William and LoRae Fitspatrick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Frank, Chester and Raymond Raab and their wives.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverends Jerry Ingles and Jack Hannum officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Online condolences may be made at www.hinsey-brown.com .
