Alice Tidrow, age 88, of New Castle passed away, Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born August 9, 1920 in Iowa to the late Albert and Ethel (Simms) Brown.
She enjoyed cooking big meals for her family and spending time with them. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, working with livestock and fishing from their boat. She retired from Brooks Food in Mt. Summit after 30 years of service and was a member of the Luray Nazarene Church.
Survivors include a daughter: Pamela J. (husband: Raymond) Burris of Muncie; a grandson: Brad (wife: Jennifer) Coovert of Noblesville; two great granddaughters: Pamela Rose and Jessica Rene Coovert of Noblesville; a sister-in-law: Katherine Brown of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ruben Tidrow; siblings: Carlton Brown, Helen Hudson, Josephine May, Betty Garner, George Brown, Ronny Brown and Clifford Brown.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Tom Current officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Kidney Foundation with envelopes available at the funeral home.
