Amy R. “Becky†Smith, age 66, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born October 17, 1943 in Henry County, Indiana to William Donal and Georgia L. (Fannon) Teel.
She was a 1961 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. Becky was an avid Colts and IU fan. She loved her grandchildren and was a very special person for the whole family, and was always there to help. Becky loved gardening, crocheting and baking.
Survivors include her mother, Georgia Teel of New Castle; son, Tim (wife, Melody) Smith of West Harrison, IN; siblings, Cindy (husband, Don) Bennett of New Castle, Lindy (husband, Marvin) Gomillion of Summerfield, FL, Bill (wife, Susan) Teel of Anderson; four grandchildren, Tyler Smith of Anderson, Kelly Jo Smith of OH, Mallory and Madison Smith of West Harrison; nieces and nephews, Derrick (wife, Cristen) Ferguson of North Carolina and their children, Will and Samantha; Scott (wife, Kim) Vores and their children, Lauren, Conner, Sydney and Ashlynn all of Germany; Jennifer R. Vores of Westport, IN, Brooke Wilson (fiance, Donald Morgan) and daughter, Olivia of New Castle and Chelsea Teel of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Donal Teel; a sister, Alice Vores; sons, Tom and Jon Smith.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Larry Neal officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
