The fabulous life of Andrea (Ande) Dane Cheesman Holcomb does not come to an end with her death. Our kooky spooky queen of Halloween, the “living dead girl” will indeed continue living through innumerable friends and loved ones who will honor her legacy by living life to the fullest.
Ande was born September 18, 1978 in New Castle, Indiana on a beautiful Monday morning at 11am to Russ and Connie (Davis) Cheesman.
She passed away at the age of 45 on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. She is an organ donor, and so will be able to bless others with the gift of life.
Ande was the most enthusiastic horror fan you would ever meet. What most found horrifying, she found beautiful. The Nightmare Before Christmas was her favorite movie, and she celebrated Halloween not only on Oct 31st and Dec 25th, but every other day of the year as well. She was an avid collector of horror memorabilia, and her mother, Connie, knew to get her a new living dead doll for every birthday and Christmas. Despite her love of all things related to death and the macabre, she was so incredibly full of life! Ande laughed loud, lived proud, and was never ashamed to be herself. She had a magnetic personality and made new friends wherever she went. Ande’s capacity for life and love are an inspiration.
She also had a passion for fashion and creativity. She possessed a wonderful and unique sense of style, and had a hat for every outfit. A talented seamstress as well, she made her own curtains, and made blankets and bags to give as gifts to her friends. She decorated her home and gardening also to reflect her one of a kind aesthetic.
Ande loved her family fiercely. She was the youngest of 3 daughters. "The Girls" as everyone called them, were not only sisters, but best friends all their lives. From the moment her son Lige was born, he was her greatest love. She was married to Phil, her Twin Flame in 2020.
The bond that she shared with all of her loved ones was apparent to all who knew her, and she was never shy to tell anyone about it!
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fred and Mable Cheesman; maternal grandparents, Lige and Naomi Davis; sister, Angela Paul, her granddaughter Saferiah, brother-in-law, Eric Holcomb, and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her husband, Phil Holcomb; mother-in-law, Judy Holcomb; her son, Lige Anthony Butler; her step-children, MaKayla Dalton, Drew Holcomb, Jonathon Holcomb, Jake Holcomb; her parents, Russ and Connie (Davis) Cheesman; her sister, Amber (Paul) Betters; half-sister, Tina (Murlin) Webb; two nephews, Dylan (Ashe) Cheesman and Jakob Myers; her two grandsons, Anakin and River and many aunts, uncles, and cousins and many others whose lives she touched.
