Angie Elizabeth Clark

April 1, 1923 — October 24, 2011

Angie Elizabeth Hart Clark of New Castle passed away into the care of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at Henry County Hospital, Monday evening, October 24, 2011 following a lengthy illness.

Angie was the only daughter of Dewey Hart and Dova (Merrick) Hart of the Trimble, Kentucky area. She was born on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1923 on the family farm that she grew up on, which was located on the Cumberland River in Pulaski County, Kentucky. She was a descendant of Israel Hart Sr., and early Kentucky pioneer and was the fourth generation Hart to be a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church of the Trimble, Kentucky area.

On August 16, 1941, she married Chester Clark of New Castle, Indiana. In their early years, they lived on a farm in the Richsquare Community in Henry County. In 1953, they moved to Henry Township, where they continued to farm and lived out their remaining years, raising their family. Angie enjoyed life on the farm and working along side her late husband. Angie’s interests included being a member of the Live and Learn Club of Henry County Extension Homemakers of Liberty Township, and being a member of the Keystone Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Memorial Wesleyan Church for more than 60 years. She and her late husband also enjoyed being members of the Farm Couples Group of Henry County. Her greatest love was to be with her family, especially with her grandchildren whenever possible.

Four daughters survive to cherish their mother’s memory and hard work, Beverly (husband, Duane) Elliott, Donna Bunner, Jane (husband, Jeff) Kernel all of Henry County, IN and Karen (husband, Brian) Daniels of Roann, IN. Angie was the very proud grandmother of ten, Dwight (wife, Lori) Elliott of Amboy, IN, April (husband, Todd) Fisher of Zionsville, Jay Bunner of Fishers, IN, Brian (wife, Stephanie) Bunner, Beth (husband, Jared) Ferguson both of Henry County, Todd (wife, Christa) Bunner of Grand Haven, MI, Andy (wife, Anna) Lockhart of Raleigh, NC, Joy (husband, George III) Coleman of Dayton, OH, Allison Daniels of Colorado Springs, CO and Alex Daniels of Columbia City, IN; fourteen great grandchildren, Drew, Caleb, Ethan and Emma Elliott, Aaron and Jon Fisher, Adeline and Dylan Bunner, Isabelle, Graham and Liliana Ferguson, George, Max and Scarlett Jane Coleman; many nieces and nephews; a special cousin and friend, Velma Prather Albertson of West Lafayette, IN; a brother-in-law, Gene Clark of New Castle; sisters-in-law, Virginia (husband, Marvin) Littrell Hix of New Castle, Marie Hart, and Georgia Taylor of Pulaski County, KY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Chester Clark; an infant daughter, Patricia Jean Clark; three brothers, Denver, Othel and James Hart of Pulaski County, KY.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Kirk and Reverend Dennis Hilton officiating. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Indiana. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Autism Awareness Motion c/o First Friends Meeting, 503 South Main Street, New Castle, IN 47362 or the Memorial Wesleyan Church, 115 Fairway Drive, New Castle, IN 47362 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
