Anna L. Davis, 81, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday morning, November 8, 2017 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born October 16, 1936 in Burkesville, KY, a daughter of the late Leo and Flora (Slagle) Martin.
Anna moved to New Castle from Frankfort in 1975, and had worked at Brook’s Foods in Mt. Summit and the New Castle State Hospital. She was an active member of the First Apostolic Church in New Castle for over 40 years.
Survivors include her five children, Judy (Ronnie) Henemyre of Albany, KY; Jimmy (Kathy) Tallent of Knightstown, Margaret (Roy) Moore, Carol Tallent, and Cathy (David) Simpkins, all of New Castle; grandchildren, Ronnie (Cheryl) Henemyre of Cambridge City, Nathan (Shelly) Henemyre, Jeffrey Henemyre both of Albany, KY, Joyvanna Butcher of Dale, IN, Luke Wallen of New Castle, Ashley Nicole (Derrick) Wallen of New Castle, Brandon Moore of Muncie, Kevin Moore, Leanna Neal, Martin Vasquez, Seth (Cheyenne) Simpkins, and Kyle Simpkins, all of New Castle; thirteen great grandchildren; five step children, including Lucille Williams of New Castle, and two step great grandchildren, Paul Williams of Spiceland and Andy Williams of New Castle; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry “Gordon” Tallent in 1984; her second husband, Leroy Davis in 2012; brothers, Howard and Leroy Martin; sisters, Colleen Farris, Maxine Martin, and Stella Mae Popplewell.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2017 at First Apostolic Church, 418 New York Ave., New Castle. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the church with Pastor Jeff Emmitt, Rev. John Beck, and Rev. David Brown officiating.
