Anna Jane Haskett

Anna Jane Haskett, 88, of Straughn, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at her residence. She was born January 18, 1924 in New Castle a daughter of Elmer and Violet (Ward) Ellington.

A 1942 graduate of Mt. Summit High School, she was employed by Indiana Bell Telephone and Modernfold Industries. She was a member of Ma Belles, Lewisville Homemakers and New Lisbon Christian Church.

She is survived by three children: Steven (wife, Carolyn) Haskett of Hagerstown, Barbara (husband, Jim) Owens of Indianapolis, Peggy Ewing of Straughn; 5 grandchildren: Holly (husband, John) Isaacs of Horton, KS, Lori (husband, Shane) Gregory of Spiceland, Justin (wife, Amanda) Ewing of New Castle, Brad (wife, Terrie) Ewing of Straughn, Steve Haskett of New Castle; 12 great grandchildren; one sister: Betty Crabtree of New Castle; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law: Bonnie Ellington of New Castle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Junior Haskett in 1984; son: Jerry Haskett in 1993; grandson: Carl Pemberton in 2005; sister: Doris Walden; brother: Deward Ellington.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, September 17, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Mark Lomison officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of service Monday.
