Anna Mary Karst

Anna Mary Karst, 94, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Henry County Hospital. She was born on March 9, 1918 in Yorkville, Indiana to the late Henry and Josephine Elizabeth (Conrad) Meister.
Anna attended Guilford High School. She was formerly employed by Diamond Chain, Wm.H. Blocks and Reberger Draperies, all of Indianapolis, where she worked as a seamstress, making draperies. Anna was an avid gardener as she grew up on a farm. She enjoyed quilting and was very artistic and creative. She was a devoted mother and a fantastic homemaker. Anna was a very appreciative and polite person who loved her family. She was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sunman.
Survivors include her children, Mary Ann Pollard of Hagerstown; Shirley Fitzgerald of New Castle; grandchildren: Matt (Lori) Fitzgerald of Indianapolis; Shalette Farmer of Bellefontaine, OH; Julie Kindig of Indianapolis; Shane (Linda) Pollard of Phoenix, AZ; 7 great grandchildren; siblings: Carrie Burris of Batesville, IN; Ellie Kruse of Sunman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Louis Marvin Karst; sons-in-law: Chalmer Pollard and D. Ted Fitzgerald, Jr.; siblings: Joseph Meister and Elsie Dobson.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Evangelical Union Cemetery in Sunman, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O.
