Anna Lines

January 1, 1900 — October 14, 2008

Anna F. Lines, age 74, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at her residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Henry County, Indiana to the late Virgil and Artie (Smith) Thrasher.

A 1951 graduate of New Castle High School, she was employed at Modernfold and retired from the New Castle Community Schools Food Service Department after over 20 years of service. Working with the Foster Grandparent Program, she was a grandma at Sunnyside Elementary School for several years. She was a member of First Bible Free Will Baptist Church in New Castle for over 45 years.

Survivors include her husband whom she married April 5, 1957: Harold Lines of New Castle; two daughters: Joy Goodpaster of New Castle and Cynthia Lines of New Castle; a son: Max (wife: Mary) Lines of Mt. Summit; five grandchildren: Michelle (husband, Jon) Dillow of New Castle, Derek (wife, Jennifer) Altom of Nauvoo, AL, Justin Altom, Emily and Heidi Lines; a sister: Nettie Michelson of New Castle; three brothers: Harmon (wife, Lillie) Thrasher of Indianapolis, Jim (wife, Barbara) Thrasher of New Castle, Earl (wife, Sue) Thrasher of Cleveland, OH; a sister-in-law: Donna Thrasher of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Vina Robinson; a brother, Don Thrasher.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Mike Edwards and Kevin Flannagin, and her grandson, Derek Altom officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle. Friends may call from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ball Cancer Center, Henry County Memorial Hospital or the First Bible Free Will Baptist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
