Anne Millikan

Anne Millikan, 80, went to Heaven on September 28, 2022, in her home following a brief illness. Anne was a loving wife, born-again Christian, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to those who knew her.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 28, 1941, Anne was the daughter of Bert and Bess Van Hoose of New Castle, IN. She married her high school sweetheart, John R. Millikan, of New Castle, IN almost 63 years ago.

Anne was blessed with 7 children: Dr. Tom Millikan (Kelly) of New Castle, IN; Margaret VanNattan (Steve) of Telephone, TX; Martha Kardel of New Castle, IN; Dr. Nathan Millikan (Melissa) of New Castle, IN; Mary Swingley of Batavia, OH; Dr. David Millikan of Zionsville, IN; Dr. Daniel Millikan (Kelly) of Bloomington, IN; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A 1959 graduate of New Castle High School, Anne was involved in numerous school activities, and was a varsity cheerleader at the first game played in the Fieldhouse. She went on to attend Earlham College.
Along with her husband, John, Anne provided a Christian foundation as the basis for their family. Anne devoted over 30 years as a discussion leader in Women’s Bible Study Fellowship. She also enjoyed ministering to women in Kenya, Africa. Later in life, Anne owned and operated a women’s boutique and gift shop in Metamora, IN. During this time, and throughout her life, she had the joy of touching and witnessing to countless hearts and lives. She thanked God for the pleasure of being able to share Christ with so many people.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 2, 2022 with services to follow at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, IN. Graveside services will be held at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations to Renner Ministries ( www.renner.org ) may be given in memory of Anne Millikan.
