Anthony Wade Nicholas, age 61, of Mooreland, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Monday, Dec. 6, 2010. He was born Nov. 9, 1949, in Henry County, Indiana, to the late C. Steve and Leola M. (Garrett) Nicholas.
A 1968 graduate of Blue River High School, he retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle in 2003 following 35 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a member of UAW Local #371.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Kay Nicholas of Mooreland; a son, Brad Nicholas of Fairfield, Ohio; brothers, Norman (wife, Sherry) Nicholas of Rushville, Marlin Nicholas of Mooreland and Gleason (wife, Kay) Nicholas of New Castle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (wife, Connie) Savage of New Castle, James (wife, Judy) Savage of Florida and George Savage (companion, Pat) of Mt. Summit; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Nicholas; a sister, Charlotte Cool; a brother, Donald Nicholas; a sister-in-law, Norma Savage.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Thomas Current officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
