Arlene Rowena Franklin

Arlene Rowena Franklin, 87, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Henry Community Health. She was born September 13, 1936 in Jay County, Indiana to the late Roy and Martha (Bumbaugh) Craig.

Arlene was the Valedictorian of the 1954 graduating Class of Bryant High School. While raising her children, she also babysat for teachers’ children. She was a member of Memorial Wesleyan Church where she was very active and was the church housekeeper. She enjoyed traveling to Disney World and around the country. Arlene loved helping others and providing for her family and extended family. She helped with the Blue River Athletics, selling tickets for many events.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-eight years, Ralph Franklin; children, Traci Franklin, daughter-in-law Wendie Franklin, Linda (Brian) Parker, Joe (Diana) Franklin, Susan (Mark) Thompson, Diane (Jeff) Craig, Janet (Taber) Adams, Jesse Franklin (Amanda), Travis Taylor (Brittany), Michelle Franklin (Jake), Bill Kidd (Tasha), and Makayla Franklin; brother, Steve Craig; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Reed Eric Franklin and 7 siblings.

Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. You may express condolences or share a memory of Arlene at www.hinsey-brown.com.
