Arlene Goar

Arlene Goar, age 83, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Henry County Hospital. She was born October 16, 1925 in Burnside, Kentucky to the late Jodie and Eunice (Harris) Nunn.

Arlene loved her friends and enjoyed their fellowship especially at bingo. She also loved her Lord and family and attended Open Arms Church in New Castle. Arlene especially loved her grandchildren and was a wonderful loving mother who sacrificed her needs for the benefit of her family. She enjoyed activities such as crocheting, bingo, mushroom hunting and bowling.

Survivors include her children: Kathy (husband: Charles) Owens of Ingalls, James David (wife: Kim) Goar of Greensfork, IN and Robin (husband: Doug) Montfort of Lexington, KY; grandchildren: Jamie of NC, Chris of Navarre, FL, Stacy of New Castle, Matthew of Lexington, KY, Joshua and Nicholas of Somerset, KY; sister: Doretta Baugh of New Castle; several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; nephews: Mike Odom of New Castle and Gene Odom of Muncie; a special friends: Irene Beatty of Virginia and Johnny Winchester of New Castle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Bob Goar; sisters: Louise Flynn and Juanita Minton; brothers: Clayton and Jay Nunn; special niece: Frances Winchester.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at the funeral home.
