Arlie Blevins

Arlie Blevins, 78, of New Castle passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Marion County, IN. He was born May 29, 1943 in New Castle, IN a son of the late Jesse and Ruth (Coffey) Blevins.

Arlie attended school in Mt. Summit. He retired from Chrysler in 1994. Arlie was a talented painter and enjoyed his artistry on motorcycle tanks. He was very successful raccoon hunter and enjoyed fishing and boating. He loved working in the garden with his children and grandchildren and taking them on tractor rides. He spent a lot of time in the garage working on projects, the most recent, a Harley Davidson with a side car. Arlie was an amazing father and the worlds best Papaw. Arlie was a Jack of all trades, a master of none but often times better than a master of one.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Kelly Jo Helton; granddaughters, McKayla Helton (Mikey Krul),, Karley Rose Helton; great grandchildren, McKinley May Krul and Mario Wade Alafogianis; siblings, Betty (Jay) Campbell, Joan (Charles) Stigall, Fay Blevins, Hank Blevins, Carol (Floyd Flynn) Blevins, Gail Morgan, Genny Blevins and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 infant sons, Patrick Garfield, Gerald Arlie, and Derald Jessie and beloved son, Scott Allen Blevins.

Services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00pm until the time of service. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Arlie Blevins Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
