Arnold K. Denney

Arnold K. Denney, age 81, of New Castle and formerly of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born January 22, 1932 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Roy B. and Ruthie (Melton) Denney.

He moved from Albany to New Castle in 1951 and retired from Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit in 1997 after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Hornet CB Club “Green Jeans”. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, gardening and bird watching.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Brenda (Byrd) Denney of New Castle; three children, Donna (Larry) Asberry of Jacksonville, FL, Phillip Denney of New Castle and Terry (Linda) Denney of New Castle; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two brothers, Orville (Margie) Denney of New Castle and Otis (Anna) Denney of Clinton, IN; four sisters, Ronnie Rineberger of Tampa, FL, Pearl Lawson, Kathy (Dave) Zimmerman and Joyce (Roger) Owens all of Hamilton, OH; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Joseph Jay Davis of New Castle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brad Denney of Jacksonville, FL; infant brother, Roy B. Denney, Jr.; three sisters, Bonnie Witham, Flonnie Lee and Mary Lynch; brother, William “Bill” Denney.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. A visitation will also be at Talbott Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Talbott Funeral Home with Pastors Donnie Shelley and Jimmy Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Peolia Cemetery.
