Arthur Lee McCorkle

Arthur Lee McCorkle, 84, of New Castle passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29th, 2024. He was born May 1st, 1940 to the late Basil and Ursula McCorkle.

Arthur was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed metal detecting, doing puzzles, listening to music,and playing euchre. He was a member of the New Castle Masonic Lodge #91 since 1966. Arthur retired from DANA Corporation after 30 years of service. He was also a lifetime member of the New Castle Four Square Gospel Church.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 57 years Tauni McCorkle; son Shane McCorkle (Vicki), daughter Shilo Darling (Jason); grandchildren Brandy, Krystyna, Hayley, Damien; and great grandchildren, Korbyn and Addy.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Rex McCorkle, James McCorkle, and Paul McCorkle; 2 sisters, Thera Sue McCorkle and Elana Louise McCorkle. 

The family would like to thank Henry County Hospice, members of the Four Square Church, and close friends the Bennett’s and Davis’s.

A celebration of life will be hosted by Jim Becker on July 13th at Four Square Gospel Church from 2 p.m.- 4p.m. Memorial contributions can be made out to Moose Heart Child City and School, 240 W.
