Barbara S. Ferguson, 72, of Spiceland passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 at her residence. She was born April 12, 1940 in Monroe County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Ernest and Mabel (Landrum) Hacker.
A homemaker, she attended South Side Church of the Nazarene. She played piano, sang and worked in children’s ministries. She enjoyed wintering in Florida.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years: Chester “Chet: Ferguson, Jr.; three children: Ron (wife, Fay) Ferguson of New Castle, Patti (husband, Tim) Jackson, Sr of Spiceland and Jeff (wife, Wanda) Ferguson of New Castle; eight grandchildren: Zephra (husband: Jon) Martin, Hannah (husband, Jason) Ford, Jared (wife, Beth Ann) Ferguson, Ron (wife, Susan) Ball, Dan Ball, Tim (wife, Melissa) Jackson, Jr. and Kati Jackson; nine great grandchildren: Alan & Kaylee Martin, Isabelle, Graham & Lilliana Ferguson, Cameron Ball, Trey Ball, Austin & Brandon Cook; three brothers: Kenneth (wife, Sue) Hacker, Harold (wife, Myra) Hacker, both of New Castle, Maurice (wife: Elaine) Hacker of Columbia, Mo.; one sister: Dorothy Schwind of Tipp City, OH; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: two sisters: Wilma Landrum and Lois Thrasher.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend David Perry officiating.
