Barbara Joan Hines, age 80, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 26, 2010 in Henry County Hospital. She was born August 22, 1929 in Anderson, a daughter of the late Ory Emory and Melba (Cook) Clark.
She was a 1947 graduate of Middletown High School. Barbara was a homemaker, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, arts and crafts. She also loved riding on the motorcycle with her husband Samuel.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Samuel Hines of New Castle; children, Rick (wife, Cheryl) Hines of Middletown , Caryn (husband, Terry) Johnson of Alexandria, Barbara Altom of Greenfield, Julie Newhouse of Greenfield and Danny (wife, Ramona) Hines of Connersville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Samara Ellen Hines; a brother, Howard Clark and a sister, Judy Klenovich.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Jack Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital with envelopes available at the funeral home.
