Barbara Nicholas

Barbara Jean Nicholas, age 64, of New Castle, passed away, Thursday, May 7, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born July 1, 1944 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Cain) Arnette.

She attended New Castle Schools and had worked in housekeeping in several homes in area and also at Steve Alford American Inn. She also enjoyed her pets.

Survivors include a son: Bill (wife: Linda) Hicks of New Castle; a sister: Linda Bennett of Muncie; a very special companion: Howard Slover of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law: Joyce and Bill Booher.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 at the funeral home.
