Barbara Jean Warner

Barbara Jean Warner, 89, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024 at her home.  She was born July 3, 1934 in Indianapolis to the late Arval and Pauline (Hollinger) Lawrence.

She graduated in 1952 from Manuel High School and went on to work as a dental assistant with a private dentist at Camp Atterbury and the I.U. School of Dentistry for many years.   Barbara loved music, gospel and classical.  She played piano and was a very accomplished pianist.  Barbara was a member of the Church of the Brethren, in Indianapolis. She loved her family and enjoyed basketball, March Madness, nickel bets and sports. Barbara loved Purdue it was her favorite team.

She is survived by her children, Kim (Jeff Miller) Goar, Kelly (Shawn) Auxier and Mike (Margie) Warner; grandchildren, Justin Grose, Clinton (Shana) Grose, Katie (Brad Johnson) Stacy, Natalie Saldivar and Jennifer Vaquera; great-grandchildren, Kain (Ashley) Grose, Kaagen Kendall, Lola Grose, Bryan (Jordan) Mathews, Braydon (Reanna Fisher) Harrison, Bailey (Bradley) Steinruck, Brock Grose and Brody Grose; great-great grandchildren, Muriel Grose, Bentley Fisher, Lucah Fisher, Ari Steinruck, Jovie Steinruck and Parker Johnson; special friends, Helen Stofer, Alex Chichuk and Rosie Dorsey; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Robet Warner, grandson, Marcos Vaquera, brother, Ralph Lawrence, sons-in-law, James Goar and Ken Knarr; sister-in-law, Donna Lawrence.

Service will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Mike Warner officiating.  Burial will follow in Washington Park East.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
