Barbara Jean Weidner

Barbara Jean Weidner. 76, of Knightstown passed away Friday February 17, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born December 2, 1940 in Henry County, a daughter of the late Clifford and Mary (O’Neal) McCorkle.

Barbara was an avid Pacers fan, enjoyed gardening and growing flowers in the springtime, fishing and trips to the casino with her BFF. She had at one time been employed by Western Electric and was a teacher’s aide at the Carthage Elementary School for 14 years.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Weidner of Knightstown; children, Mark (Cindy) Weidner of Shelbyville, Darrell (Penny) Weidner of Carthage, Gary (Michelle) Weidner of Knightstown, Steve Weidner of Carthage; grandchildren, Brandon (Kristen)Weidner of Shelbyville, Kyle Weidner of Indianapolis, Jarrett Weidner of Knightstown, Kiera and Tyler Weidner both of Knightstown; sister, Mary Lou (Raymond) Pickering of Big Canoe, GA; brother-in-law, Ronald (Lynn) Weidner of Winchester, OH.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David McCorkle.

Services will be at 1:00PM Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
