Benjamin Bowman Burns, 49, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born August 20, 1966, in Crestview Florida, to Bobby Carl and Sharon (Davis) Burns.
A 1984 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City, he attended Ball State University for two years. He had been employed at Carson Chemicals, which later became Virbac. Ben was an electrician, and a member of IBEW (Electricians Union). Ben loved photography, fishing, hunting, and all outdoor activities. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to music.
He is survived by his brother, Bryan Burns (Sabrina Gosser) of New Castle; his mother, Janice Best (Joe) of Bradenton, FL; son, Jacob (Arin) Anderson; a granddaughter, Adrienne Anderson; his girlfriend, Amy Spurgeon of New Castle; grandmother, Sheba Burns Trites of Bradenton, Fl; uncle, David (Celia) Burns of New Castle; five step sisters, Katrina Thomas, Lisa Mullen, Heather Smith, Shannon Wolf-Bradley, Danielle Wolf; step-father, Gary Wolf; several nieces, nephews, cousins, his faithful dog, Baby, and a host of loving family and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Carl Burns and his mother, Sharon Davis Wolf.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with services at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Dale Reynolds will officiate.
