Bert Huston

Bert Huston, 89, of Spiceland passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 28, 1934 in London, Kentucky to the late John Huston and Maggie (Inman) Thomas.

He was a roofer and retired after 34 years. Bert enjoyed fishing, boating and vacationing in Daytona Beach. He also enjoyed his yard work, mowing, tending to the flowers and just piddling outside.

Survivors include the love of his life, wife of 69 years, Velma (Smith) Huston; children, Diane (Larry) Ervin, Connie Collins, Ronnie (Pennie) Huston, Johnny (Kimberly) Huston; grandchildren, Missy (Mike) Laker, Rachelle (Jim) Winter, Amanda (Bill) Slattery, Jeremy Huston, Tabitha (Bob) Cooley, Joshua Collins, Nick (Haley) Huston and Nathan Huston; 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Huston; sister, Louise Smith; son-in-law, Rick Collins; grandmother, Lula Money; mother and father-in-law, Dan and Della Smith.

Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland.
