Beth Steele-Cook

Elizabeth Elaine “Beth” Steele-Cook, age 54, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born September 16, 1959 in Evansville, Indiana to Edward Russell and Betty Jane (May) Steele.

Beth was employed at Hillcroft Services in New Castle for many years and had also been employed at Top Hat 2 and Anytime Fitness. She participated in Special Olympics and was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church in Marion, Kentucky and New Castle Moose Lodge. She enjoyed bowling, cleaning, reading, working jigsaw puzzles, playing pool and spending time with her friends.

Survivors include her husband, Trea Cook of New Castle; brother, Keith (Caryn) Steele of Marion, Kentucky; two sisters, JoAnne Steele of Greenfield and Carolyn Parker of Ft. Collins, CO; aunt, Marilyn (Todd) Iddings of Marion, KY; In-laws, Charles and Lorie Cook of Knightstown; sisters-in-law, Tasha (Kevin) Crandall of Spiceland, Jessica (Frank) Morgan of Noblesville, and Dee Dee Smith of Spiceland; brothers-in-law, Jeremiah McIntyre of Shirley, Caleb Cook of Knightstown and Carson Cook of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Katrina K. Guffey; grandmother, Lillian Cox May.

Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Cathy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Special Olympics.
