Betty Jo Anderson, 75, of New Castle, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 in the home of her son, following a brief illness. She was born August 14, 1937 in Chattanooga, TN, a daughter of the late Harry Benjamin Rush and Celia Burchard.
A homemaker for most of her life, Betty enjoyed playing BINGO, crafting, working with flowers, fishing, and anything outdoors.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Lou (Chip) Gordon of New Castle, Rowena (Danny) Gorman of New Castle, J.K. (JoAnn) Fausset of New Castle, and Shawn (Amie) Anderson of Allendale, MI; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; four sisters, Peggy De Lany of Ringo, GA, Mary Jo Carlisle of Soddy Daisy, TN, Mary Ann Petry of Grand Forks, ND, and Shirley Hart of Bismark, ND; two brothers, Johnny Rush of TN, and Thomas Allen Townsend of ND; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven daughters; and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013 at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition with David Brown officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
