Betty L. Clapp

Betty L. Clapp, 74, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born August 11, 1948 in New Castle to the late Willie Lewis and Eula Ann (Sloan) Wallen.

Betty was a graduate of Mt. Summit High School and worked for over 32 years at Ball Brothers in Muncie. She was a hard worker, loved arts and crafts, gardening, cooking and being a housewife. She had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with her family more than anything else.

She is survived by her husband, Larry D. Clapp Sr.; children, Daryl (Dawn) Shannon, Tammy (Terry) Lybarger, Larry (Stephanie) Clapp Jr., Jerry (Kellie) Clapp; son in law, Jason Brattain; grandchildren, Blake, Cory, Cassidy, Shelby, Jessie Ann; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Willie Wallen, Keith (Mechelle) Wallen, Larry (Cheryl) Wallen and Linda Wallen (Mike Hildebrandt); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Brattain; siblings, Kenneth Wallen and Rita Lane.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Hospice, 798 N 16th St., New Castle, IN 47362.
