Betty Sue Cross, 75, of Mooreland, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born August 29, 1934 in Delaware County a daughter of Wilmur “Abe†and Bertha (Hodson) Rodeffer.
Betty was employed at Ace Hardware in New Castle. She was a member of Buck Creek Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed cooking for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband: Jerry D. Cross, whom she married June 27, 1953; a son: John (wife: Sharlene) Cross of Independence, KY; five grandchildren: Jordan (wife: Beth) Cross of Union, KY; Sarah Cross of Covington, KY; Stacey Cross, Jeremy Cross and Mary Cross all of Independence, KY; two sisters: Katrina Brewer of Parker City, Iva Jane Swoveland of Modoc; a brother: Donald (wife: Carolyn) Rodeffer of Selma; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Wilbur Rodeffer and a sister: Reba Carey.
Services will be at 11:30 Monday, February 22, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Chuck Bell officiating. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery in Losantville at a later time. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:30 prior to the service.
