Betty I. Hinshaw, age 92, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015. She was born January 2, 1923 in Iowa to the late Vance and Lenora (Shock) Reece.
She was a long time member of the Plainfield Christian Church and had watched over the daycare at the church. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and loved everyone she met. She loved the Lord, always putting Him first and thanking him for her kindness, she was loved by many. Betty constantly read her Bible which was her favorite book.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Bruce) Cox, Cathy (Ed) Stevenson both of Indianapolis and Ruth Ann (Mike) Spence of Mooresville; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Bullis of Corona, CA; brothers-in-law, Don (Shirley) Hinshaw of New Castle and Bob (Vera) Hinshaw of Colorado Springs; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Hubert W. Hinshaw; three brothers; eight sisters; son-in-law, Len Upchurch; great granddaughter, Adelyn Spence.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Evan Spence and Ed Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery.
