Betty Lenora Hudson

May 5, 1943 — July 17, 2011

Betty Lenora “Nora” Hudson, age 68, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 17, 2011 in her home. She was born in Soldier, Kentucky on May 5, 1943, a daughter of the late Wilfred Ray and Bessie E. (Masters) Roseberry.

A 1961 graduate of Knightstown High School, she had worked at Western Electric in Indianapolis and Greenfield Central High School until she found her calling as a title searcher. She was presently employed by First American Title Company in Greenfield, and had become a fixture at the Hancock County Courthouse.

Nora was an avid sports enthusiast; loved IU Basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. What she most enjoyed, however, was being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Tonya R. (husband, Tracy) Moore of Carthage, and Tyna L. Cochran (partner, Patrick Mann) of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Spc. First Class Robert D. Humphrey, stationed in the U.S. Army serving in Afghanistan, Jordan L. Unger of Carthage, Patrick S. Cochran of Dayton, OH, and Erin Michelle (husband, John) Rose of Dayton, OH; two great grandchildren, Rocky Dylan Humphrey and Dallas Humphrey; her special friend, George Davis of Anderson; siblings, Cleodas (wife, Carolyn) Roseberry of Anderson, Arby Gearhart of Olive Hill, KY, Guin E. (husband, Jimmie) Chapman of Knightstown, Wilfred Ray (wife, Peggy) Roseberry of Anderson, and Nina Kay Murray of Hagerstown; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Ralph Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. There will be no public calling hours. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hancock County Humane Society, 214 E. Main St., Greenfield, IN 46140.
