Betty Madison

Betty J. Madison, age 78, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born October 20, 1930 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Wess and Coleen (Cummings) Lee.

She had worked as a waitress and cook in many area restaurants. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and former member of Spiceland Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include four sons: Rex (wife Claudia) Madison of New Castle, Terry (wife: Linda) Madison of Mooreland, Glenn (wife: Cindy) Madison of Acworth, GA and Jeff (wife: Esther) Madison of Indianapolis; ten grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years: Charles Madison; half brother: John Lee and half sister: Maryetta Yost; a grandson: Harrison Madison.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverends Gene Bennett and Leon Davis officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Henry County Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association and American Lung Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
