Betty Prince, 63, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born May 7, 1950 in Albany, KY, a daughter of the late Lewis Rednour of Albany, KY, and Willie (Woodson) Rednour of New Castle, IN.
In her lifetime, Betty worked as a cook at several New Castle restaurants. As a pastime, she enjoyed being a founding member of the Old Women's Club, playing Bingo, card games, and the company of her children, grandchildren, family and Jeff.
She is survived by three daughters, Tammy (Bryan) Asberry of Dadeville, AL, April Prince of New Castle, Tina (Donald) Sullivan of Troy, MI; son-in-law, James Stevens of New Castle; grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Jones, Larry Pickle Prince, Brandon and Taylor Stevens; great granddaughter, Isabella Jones; sisters, Geraldine Brake of Somerset, KY, Maxine Kelly of Mayslick, KY, and Freda Brumley of Albany, KY. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws also survive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Prince; a daughter, Becky Stevens, and a sister, Kathleen Martt, all of New Castle.
Services at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Chicago Corner Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
