Betty Jean Winchester, 70, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Henry Community Health Hospital. She was born October 11, 1945 in Portsmith, Ohio to the late Wilburn and Edna (Fine) Simpson.
She attended Foursquare Gospel Church and had helped start the Henry County Humane Society. Betty enjoyed her family and loved her flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed line dancing, playing bingo, and loved dancing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was so compassionate about giving to others; she was even an organ donor.
Survivors include her children, Lisa (Randy) Garner and David Loveless both of New Castle; four granddaughters, Brandy (Duane) Burton, Mandy Purnell, Samantha and Kayla Garner all of New Castle; six great-grandchildren, Logan Craig, Hannah Craig and Savannah Garner, Maddox Purnell, Holden and Olivia Coomer all of New Castle; a sister, Loretta Cook of New Castle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Winchester; grandmother, Roxy Carpenter; brother, Roger Simpson; great granddaughter, Dakota Garner Craig.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday August 15, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Bill Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, Westlawn addition. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-1:00PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr. New Castle, IN 47362.
