Beulah Pauline Bales

Beulah Pauline Bales, 96, formerly of Mooreland and currently residing at Hickory Creek of New Castle died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born July 17, 1914 in Henry County, Indiana a daughter of the late Herman and Myrtle (Friar) Hoover.
A lifelong Mooreland area resident, she had been employed as a store clerk at Bouslogs in Mooreland and the Farm Bureau Elevator in Blountsville for many years. Beulah was a member of the Buck Creek Church of the Brethren where she served as a deaconess and was a member of CBWF. She was a charter member of the Cable Club, Stoney Creek Extension Homemaker Club, Mooreland senior Citizens and a 50 year member of Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening , sewing and loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters: Joyce (husband; Mike) Kirby of Mooreland and Lois Miller of New Castle; three grandchildren: Joe Hedges (girlfriend: Kari Hilbrader and her children Blake and Alia) of Bloomington, Delanna (husband: Donnie) Conner of Blountsville and Jason (wife: Amanda) Kirby of Ridgeville; two great grandchildren: Alexandra and Jordan Conner; one sister: Vera Cross of Muncie; sister-in-law: Nora Mae Minneman of Hartford City; and several nieces & nephews including Gene & Rex Bales and Bonnie Golliher whom she helped raise.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Marvin E. Bales; a stillborn son; a sister: Luva Pope; and a niece: Jane Bales Houser.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Buck Creek Church of the Brethren with Chuck Bell and Mike Cassidy officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Buck Creek Church of the Brethren, 8802 North Buck Creek Pike, Mooreland, IN 47360 or Stoney Creek Fire Department, 8896 North Wilbur Wright Road, Losantville, IN 47354.
