Beulah Milne, age 88, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Living Petals Geriatric Home in Middletown. She was born May 1, 1921 in Knightstown, Indiana to the late Russell and Margaret (Trager) Poer.
She was a member and former Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Daleville, a member of the White Union Christian Church and White Union Ladies Aide. She was also a former advisor for Job’s Daughters. Beulah enjoyed gardening and making noodles but above all, she loved her family dearly.
Survivors include her son: Jack (wife: Sally) Milne of Sulphur Springs; a daughter: Connie Callahan of Dunkirk; four grandchildren: Chris (wife: Katie) Milne of Greenfield, Beth (husband: Steve) Rolfsen of Canton, MI, Keli Callahan of Fishers and William Russell (wife: Jessica) Callahan II of Muncie; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two sisters: Alma VanAlst and Marilyn (husband: Jr) Reagan both of Sulphur Springs; her caretaker: Cathy Shaw of Sulphur Springs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years; Samuel William Milne; a son-in-law: William Russell Callahan; three sisters, a brother and a nephew.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Gordon Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Order of Eastern Star Service will be at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
