Beverly "June" Griffin

Beverly "June" Griffin, age 83, of New Castle, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at Henry County Hospital. She was born July 12, 1930 in Rushville, Indiana to the late Curby and Alta (Jessup) Browning.

June retired from Copeland in Rushville and her later years was a caregiver for the elderly. She was a longtime member of the Christ United Methodist Church in New Castle. June enjoyed working puzzles, word searches and was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Turner of New Castle, Frank (Theresa) Griffin of Shelbyville, Roger (Deanna) Griffin of Greenfield, Sue Rowell of AL, Sara (Delbert) Rice of FL; grandchildren, Kodey (Katelyn) Griffin of Rushville, Natasha (Doug) Merrick of Trafalger and Philip Wells of Shelbyville; great grandchildren, Easton, Ian, Bowen, Christian Merrick all of Trafalger; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Griffin; son, Paul Steven Griffin; sister, Jean Bailey.

A Memorial Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Christ United Methodist Church in New Castle with Mel Mozingo officiating. Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the church.
