Bill Couch, 84, of New Castle, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 in Spring Hills, Florida. He was born on July 4, 1939 to the late Lenard and Edna Couch. Bill was a dutiful, determined and hardworking individual who dedicated his life to his family and his work.
Bill is survived by his son, Jay (Lisa); daughter, Stacey Couch; brother, James Couch; sisters, Phyllis (Lester) Henderson and Brenda Couch; step-granddaughters, Delilah (Chris) Duncan, Cheyanne (Kurtis) Schnepp and Shannon Lee; step-great-grandchildren, Killian and Emiliana. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of more that sixty-one years, Judi; his parents, Lenard and Edna Couch; brother, Bobby Couch.
Bill attended Knightstown High School before embarking on his military service as a surveyor in the Army.
After his military service, Bill pursued a career as a journeyman printer for Mayhill Publications and the Indianapolis Star. In addition to his printing career, he also enjoyed small-scale farming, raising Angus cattle and enjoying the gentle rain and breeze from his porch swing. Bill had a special bond with his beloved Australian Shepherd, Abby, and enjoyed playing Frisbee with her.
A ceremony to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on July 22, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, in conjunction with the service for his wife, Judi, who passed away six days prior. Burial will immediately follow at Green Hill Memory Gardens in New Castle. Condolences and memories may be shared at
