Bob “Bobcat” Gene Stevens, 85, of Knightstown, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Henry Community Health. He was born June 25, 1934 in Olive Hill, KY, the son of Ollie and Faithy (Gilliam) Stevens.
Bob retired from road construction work after 33 years last working for Huber Hunt & Nichols Paving Company. He had also worked for Chrysler Corporation for 1 year. He was a hard worker and in retirement enjoyed working on small lawn mowers. Bob was a fun loving person, loved to see people laugh and never met a stranger. He liked yard sales and collecting items especially tools. He enjoyed passing along stories to his grandchildren. Bob also enjoyed playing cards, pool, horseshoes, hunting for squirrels, rabbits and deer and watching westerns.
He is survived by two daughters, Joan Stevens (fiancé, Ronnie Foster) of Bronston, KY and Pam (Brian) Shores of Anderson; a son, Robert Leon Stevens of Knightstown; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Lavon Stevens; son, David Stevens; daughter, Tamara Stevens; and granddaughter, Amanda Stevens.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Condolences and memories of Bob may be shared at
