Bobby "Bob" Eugene Upchurch

Bobby E. Upchurch 73, of New Castle passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 peacefully at Henry County Community Health. He was born December 17, 1950 in New Castle to the late Joe Bennie and Earsel (Dunnington) Upchurch.

He was a member of the 1969 graduating class of New Castle Chrysler High School. Following graduation Bobby served in the United States Navy. After 30 plus years he retired from Allegheny Ludlum and was a proud member of the United Steelworkers Union. Bobby enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed outdoor concerts, sporting events and meeting weekly for breakfast with his Allegheny family.

Bobby was an accomplished musician, playing rhythm guitar in several local bands including Back Trax and The ETC Band. He loved all genres of music but his favorite was classic rock and blues. Bobby loved reading and learning all about the artists he enjoyed, and sharing that knowledge with others.

Bobby leaves behind the love of his life, Becky (Luttrell) Upchurch; four beautiful daughters, Tonda (Dave) Wicker of Greenfield, Jolene (Mike) Powell of Davenport, IA, Lindsey Bise and Amanda Bise of New Castle; grandchildren, Caleb Wicker, Dagan Wicker, Tanner Wicker of Greenfield, Carissa Wicker of Fishers, Ashley Powell, Shaun Powell, Spencer Powell Davenport, IA and Christian Crabtree of New Castle; sisters, Lois (Charles) Yates of Avon Park, FL and Linda Engel of Zephyrhills, FL; special nephew, Jeff Knowling of New Castle; several nieces and nephews; as well as great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Anna Louise Upchurch; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Noel and Betty Luttrell; brother-in-law, Bryant Luttrell.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
