Bona Jean Atterson

Bona Jean Atterson, 81, of New Castle, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, March 6, 2011. She was born March 30, 1929 in Millville the daughter of the late Ralph and Pauline (Manifold) Stauble.
She retired from Second National Bank in Hagerstown and Richmond in 1987 after 40 years of service. She was a 70 year active member of Chicago Corner Church and belonged to the Hagerstown Order of the Eastern Star. Bona enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She spent her winters shopping in Florida. She also found enjoyment in playing golf and card games.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Walter B. Atterson of New Castle; a daughter: Dee Ann Atterson of New Castle; a son: Brian (wife: Karen) Atterson of New Castle; grandchildren; Corey, Ethan and Luke Atterson all of New Castle, Evan (husband: Jason) Maynard of Shirley; 3 great-grandchildren: Kaleb Maynard, Alex Smith and Jon Henry Maynard; one brother: Dick (wife: Jeannine) Stauble of Millville; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son: Alan Walter Atterson.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Chicago Corner Church with Reverend Jack Hannum officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and Muscular Dystrophy Association with envelopes available at the church.
