Bonnie Drake

Bonnie Drake, 78, of Knightstown, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness while surrounded by her family. She was born August 19, 1932 in Clinton County, KY the daughter of Thomas Luther and Lizzie (Craft) Wallace.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Fletcher United Methodist Church for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and also enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning and spending time with her family.

Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 62 years: William “Bill” C. Drake of Knightstown; five children: Patty (husband: Mike) Ripberger of New Castle; Tommy W. Drake (wife: Jayan Hopkins) of Charlotte, NC; Connie (husband: Randy) Brown of New Castle; Neenah (husband: Toney) Spiker of New Castle; Beverly (husband: Jim) Groce of New Castle; thirteen grandchildren: Michael Ripberger, Jennifer Bond, Elizabeth Douglas, Jeremy Drake, Chris McDonald, Rachel Turpin, Jason McDonald, Casey McDonald, Ashley Brown, Whitney Spiker, Michalah Spiker, Joshua Groce, Shelby Groce; great grandchildren: Brandi and Sarah Kidd, Lilli and Bentley W. Drake, Maddison Smith, Morgan Douglas, Reagan and Henry McDonald, Aaron, Emma and Grace McDonald, Sky, Jacob and Kaitlyn Turpin, Tamara Ripberger and Tyler Sexton; two great-great grandchildren: Conner Kidd and Bentley Turpin; one sister: Emily Marie (husband: Wilmer) Petry of Downey, CA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Roger Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
