Bonnie Louise Jean Myers, age 91, of Springport, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Living Petals in Middletown. She was born September 27, 1921, in Washington County, Indiana, to the late Elmer and Ollie Jean.
Bonnie worked as a cook in the Springport School Cafeteria for many years and had also done upholstering in her home. She was a member of the Springport Christian Church and served on several committees, including the ice cream social. She was also a 50 year member of TOPS. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald Jean (wife, Sue) Myers of New Castle and John E. (wife, Diane) Myers of Guntersville, AL; eight grandchildren, Annette (husband, Paul) Floyd of Manchester, TN, Carrie (husband, Scott) Sanders of Madison, AL, Carin (husband, Brent) Rains, of Cullman, AL, Susan (husband, Jeff) Taffar of Arab, AL, Lauren (husband, Cody) Merrill of Birmingham, AL, Tom (wife, Jenny) Baty of Gate City, VA, Amy (husband, Matt) DeMoss of Brookston, IN and Molly Peche of Fishers, IN; twenty three great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald A. Myers; a brother, Cecil Jean; a sister, Fern Hardy of Campbellsburg, IN.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Springport Christian Church with Pastors David Siebenaler and Tad Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
