Brady T. Reese, 17, passed away February 11 after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. He was a senior at NCHS, and he was a dedicated band member. He was also involved in Boy Scouts of America. He was a loving and insightful young man for a 17 year-old. He enjoyed jazz music and Boy Scouts where he achieved the of Life Scout. He also enjoyed learning foreign languages, science, physics, and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. His favorite activities also included playing the trumpet, pep band, fishing, canoeing and camping. Brady had a special bond with his sister, whom he adored and wanted to follow in her footsteps to become a responsible and dedicated individual. He had a big buddy, Jeff McRoberts, who took a special role in watching the space shuttle launch. Brady also shared a loving bond with his dog Colby, who wanted to always place his head on Brady’s heart. He loved school and attempted to attend school regardless of his physical conditions. He was not a young man who gave up easily. He was preparing for college at the time of his death. Brady loved people and set wonderful examples as a friend, son and brother. His fight to overcome his disease should be admired. His journey through his short life ended in the caring hands of the professionals at St. Vincent’s Heart Center and Neurological Trauma Center. Brady continues to live through his contribution as an organ donor.
